Tomelet Sync

Your library follows you. Your keys stay with you.

Tomelet Sync keeps your books, reading positions, highlights and notes in step across your phone, tablet and computer. Everything is encrypted on your device before it leaves it, so no one can read your library — not even us.

$9.99/month after a 14-day free trial. The reader itself stays free.

How it works

Encryption you hold the keys to.

Your library is encrypted on each device with keys only your devices have. The server stores data it cannot read, and a new device joins only when one of your existing devices approves it.

  • Encrypted on your deviceBooks and notes are encrypted before they’re uploaded. We store what we cannot open.
  • You approve new devicesAdding a device needs an explicit approval from a device you already trust.
  • A Recovery Key you keepA key that is yours alone lets you recover an account when you have no signed-in device.
  • 10 GB of spaceRoom for a substantial encrypted library, its positions, highlights and ink.

What stays in step

Pick up exactly where you left off.

The things that make a book yours move with you between devices.

Your books

The library you’ve imported, available on every signed-in device.

Where you stopped

Reading positions that follow you, so a book opens where you left it.

Highlights & notes

Your marks and written notes, kept together with the book.

Pen ink

Freehand annotations synced alongside the rest.

Plain about the trade-off

Because only your devices hold the keys, privacy is a fact of the design rather than a promise. It also sets one honest limit: if you lose every signed-in device and your Recovery Key, your synced data cannot be recovered. The local copy on each device is unaffected.

The free reader needs no account and works fully offline. Tomelet Sync is the paid layer that adds private cross-device continuity.

FAQ

Questions & answers

What does “end-to-end encrypted” mean here?

Your library is encrypted on your own device before it is uploaded, with keys only your devices hold. The server stores data it cannot read, so no one else — including us — can see your books or notes.

What happens if I lose my Recovery Key?

The Recovery Key is shown once when you create your vault and is never stored, so Tomelet cannot show it again or issue a new one — keep it somewhere safe. While you still have a signed-in device you can approve new devices without it; but if you lose every signed-in device and the Recovery Key, your synced data cannot be recovered. Local data on each device stays put.

Do I have to pay to read?

No. The reader is free and needs no account. Tomelet Sync is a $9.99/month subscription, with a 14-day free trial, for private sync across your devices.
